Winstonville, MS – February 21, 2025 – The Winstonville Community Foundation (WCF) is proud to announce the formation of the North Bolivar Community Advisory Council (NBCAC), a collaborative initiative designed to engage residents and stakeholders from Alligator, Duncan, Shelby, Mound Bayou, Winstonville, and surrounding areas in Bolivar County.
The NBCAC aims to serve as a conduit between the community and WCF, ensuring that local voices are integral to the Foundation’s mission of promoting economic development, educational advancement, and overall well-being in the region.
“The establishment of the NBCAC represents a significant step toward inclusive community engagement,” said Joel M. Winston, Founder and Executive Director at WCF. “By bringing together diverse perspectives from across North Bolivar County, we can collaboratively address challenges and harness opportunities that align with our community’s unique needs.”
Key objectives of the NBCAC include:
- Identifying Community Priorities: Collaborating with residents to pinpoint and address pressing issues.
- Facilitating Resource Allocation: Guiding WCF in directing resources effectively to areas of greatest impact.
- Promoting Transparency: Ensuring open communication between WCF and the communities it serves.
WCF invites passionate individuals from Alligator, Duncan, Shelby, Mound Bayou, Winstonville, and neighboring communities to join the NBCAC. Prospective members should have a strong commitment to community development and be willing to collaborate on initiatives that drive regional progress.

Interested individuals are encouraged to apply by May 21, 2025. Applications should include:
